Raspberry & Cranberry Jam

It’s almost spring. That means it’s time to start cleaning out the freezer. As usual, there was a leftover bag of cranberries and a couple bags of frozen raspberries (I love a raspberry and mixed berry smoothies.) So, I tried combining the two. It’s a winning combination. From start to […]

Dark Chocolate Nutella

So, once you taste the liquid heaven that is Nutella + dark chocolate. For your own safety, it must be turned into something you can’t devour in one sitting almost immediately. Visions of me, my little jar of dark chocolate heaven and a spoon still dance in my head.

Peanut Butter, Banana, & Oat Bites

All quantities can be estimated as you go. Add the peanut butter to your taste. Additional peanut butter will cut the sweetness of the banana. And, next time, I’ll be using chunky peanut butter.

One bite is very satisfying. Nibble up two bites and you might forget to […]

Brown Butter Rum Plum Cobbler

Sugar Plum Jam

Sugar Plums

Sometimes called Italian plums, or Damson, or Empress (though I believe there are differences between Damsons and Empress plums), they’re also called prune plums.

Garden 2014 — A Look Back

The raspberry sprouts have graduated to full grown vines. Hopefully, they’ll survive the winter. Currently all of the raspberry and black berry bushes are still alive. Optimistically, the Dwarf Elberta peach looks about half alive. The Bonfire peach is on its last legs. And, the Kadota fig tree is a […]

Peach Jam

These peaches were so super ripe that I didn’t even bother to remove the skins. After the 10-15 minute boil, the skins almost melted away completely. And, the tiny bits of skin that remained were fine in the finished product.
